IMHO they Suck


Sony loads a bunch of CRAPWARE on the systems by default ... that is a pain to have to remove

So, the whole PC sucks because you have to deinstall some software?

Yeah ok .... maybe that was a little extreme ...

I only dealt with one VAIO back in 01 and it was a real PITA ....

I swore them off after that ....

The most important is support after the fact. Since usually you pay more just because of the Sony name make sure you have support. PCs generally don't matter when comparing the brand names. They all run the same crappy OS. It is the customer support experience that you are paying for.

I looked at the Lenovo's. I did not see one that would compare to my XPS and I want to have at least the power I am getting rid of. This computer is top of the line (or was when I bought it) and when it is working it screams power! The only things I have found so far that can come close is the Sony Vaio and the HP dv9700z. I do not want to go down in screen size so its making my search a little more difficult.
