| There are four other networks (besides mine) that pop up when I view wireless connections on my computer. They've always been there, though. I just updated my security-enablement on the connection yesterday (I forgot to do that when I changed my modems out a month or so ago), but I was hearing the noise before I did that, as well. Granted, I usually have my speakers on mute, though. I hear the "wiooonngg" noise, then a "shewwwwww" when it's gone/cleared. But it happens every 30 seconds to a minute. |

| Looks like somebody is in range of connecting to your PC/laptop, unless that's what the other access point's SSID is labeled.
