Printer possessed

My HP LaserJet 2100 M is possessed. It will all of a sudden start printing and it just prints a few random characters (sigma sign and a few others). Is this a cpu issue or printer issue? I try re-using the paper but once it's been through the printer is jams the next time through. It is usually after I take my cpu out of sleep mode that it does the random print thing, but not always.

Thanks for any help!

If windoze try turning off the bi-directional support. This can be usually be done under the printer properties in Windows.

Better to be possessed than re-possessed.

Okay, did that. It won't foul up my Citrix seeing the printer, will it?

I guess it is wait to see if the problem persists...there was really no rhyme or reason but I will know in a day or two if it stops talking to me!!

Thank you much!!

Is it connected using the JetDirect card (Network) or via another cable (like Parallel)?

CRE is sending their newsletter and ballots to your printer since their printer is broken.
