Laptop screen broke

The screen on my laptop (HP Pavilion..17"..can't remember the model off hand, I believe dv9000 series) just snapped at one part where you open/close it...so now the screen isn't held together properly nor closes quite how it should. Any suggestions besides sending it in for replacement? (which I'm not doing...because last time I got something fixed, though it was under warranty, it appears from the bill that they replaced the screen as well..even though that wasn't what I requested be fixed, and I'm thinking they effed something up)

I'm almost ready to just get a new laptop because this one has had more than its share of problems.

TIA

Ebay for replacement parts or call SMARTCO, they may have what you need to fix it.

Few years back I bought one off ebay and googled up instructions on how to install it.

it's probably cheaper to just get a new laptop. Really nice ones are under a grand anyway. A new screen is going to be too costly to replace anyway. If it's just the frame that is broken, superglue and go on. if not, it's a wonderful reason to get a new computer.

I have an HP9000 series that may be compatible. I'm pretty sure the M board is dead, but the screen works. If you want to give it a try let me know.

I like Vista... don't know what everyone's problem is with it. I've had both XP and Vista. Vista works great for me.
