Has anyone had any experience with Netbooks?

Any thoughts on Netbooks? Our son loves to go on the thomasandfriends website to play games, so I bought him a netbook (before doing a tremendous about of research). I have since read the reviews, and they are mixed, so I am hoping people on here have had experiences with a netbook and can offer their input as far as the internet connection goes. Are netbooks a good buy or not?

For the most part I think people tend to expect a full out laptop experience with a net book. I think they are great and work well for the intended purpose of net computing. I think he will be fine with it as long as he doesnt want to start editing videos etc or think he will be able to install a PC based game.

Although you can do almost anything with them you will be hindered by the screen size and storage capacity.
