Direct tv question
Is it required that you supply a wireless phone jack for them to hook up your direct tv?

If so where is the best (cheapest) place to buy one?

No phone jack at all is needed. The only time you would need a phone connection is if oyu use the remote to order PPV movies. If you order PPV using your online account on the internet you don't need it at all.

And if you do choose to hook up a phone line, it's not wireless, just a standard plain ol' phone jack in the wall.

3 years and have never plugged mine in except for the first day to let it set up.

I wonder if you can just run a phone cord with an adapter at the end .. I have a phone jack @ 10 ft away from the tv, I hate to waste 60$

If you have Tivo you need a phone jack. Programs will not update without it.

nah just basic service.. i have a 25ft long phone cord, think I will just buy an adapter and say.... here's your jack ... $4.00 vs 60.00
