| The PS3 is not 100% backwards compatible. Most games should work, others will not. |

| Save your receipt We have been two PS3 in the last 8 months. The unit stops reading the games. Ssving the receipt is the only way to know the warranty. |

| Wont work as in wont even load the games? Or wont read the memory card? Which games exactly? There is a website, by Sony, where you can select your machine and type in the name of the game. PlayStation.com |

| I thought some of the newer ones wont play PS2 games also. A friend of mine had to go on ebay because he needed an older one. I didn't look it up to verify though. edit: see this link Playstation 3 Model Guide | HCW Tech Blog

| Yeah, glad I got a 60gb launch model. Darn thing has a complete PS on a chip, thats why its %100 backward compatible. Not to mention the memory card interface, and four USB ports. |

| If you have the 80 gb you shouldn't even need a converter. ![]()

| Sure does, none of them have a physical slot to plug the memory card (not the game disc) into. |

| I've got the 80GB and it will NOT play PS2 games. Converter or no. SPEAKING of which, went to Best Buy to buy a Microphone/ Headset.. Didn't realize (and nobody shared) that Blue Tooth cell phone headsets work. ALMOST dropped $98 on two sets, when I stopped and thought about it. I have probably 5 blue tooth headsets, and a speakerphone in the house. WIshed I knew this last night when I was getting my ass handed to me by a bunch of 8 year olds. Always niced to be called an a-hole, and not be able to say anything.

| We have the PS3 60gb version which has the hardware backwards compatability. We have been able to use our PS2 games. Sorry to hear about the issue you are having, I thought they made a software patch for backward compatability on those models. |
