ZUNE player lockup

Users baffled as Zune MP3 players freeze up - CNN.com
Quote:
"It seems that every Zune on the planet has just frozen up and will not work," posted a Mountain Home, Idaho, user on CNN's iReport.com. "I have 3 and they all in the same night stopped working."

Happened to me, all you have to do is flip your lock switch a few times.

This affects the version 1 30 g Zunes. My son has one that is locked up right now. I took it apart disconnected the battery did hard reset nothing worked. I am a bit miffed right now.. I hope waiting till 2009 works, If there is no fix offered I am getting rid of all Zune stuff. Alternatively my 80g works fine.

It should be working fine now. It was a bug dealing with calculating leap years. They all got fixed when the year changed to 2009.

Mine is locked up as we speak. So I guess it just has to kill itself and then I will recharge it.

My kiddo just got one for X-mas... But she's got a lock out on her phone after 9pm and she's sleeping over at someone's house tonight. She'd have panicked if her phone had stopped working and she couldn't call me.

I'm on Chocolate number 5 in less than 2 years. If I didn't need the dayum phones, I wouldn't have them. They're a PITA.
