Found the old thread and it mentioned switching to the tan colors on the forum. I just switched...no more flashing! Of course, now it looks like sh!t.

I have never had the forums flash me but I also have the tan scheme. I don't think it looks like crap.

I changed back to blue and get the one flash after initial page load. Back to poopy tan for me.

With blue, you get nice graphical buttons for "Reply w/Quote", "Quick Reply", and "Multi-Quote". With tan, it's text for "Reply w/Quote" and "Quick Reply", and the multi-quote button is just a graphic of a quotation mark.
