Wireless Connection Problems

We have DSL and wireless hook-up at our house. We used to be able to turn the computer on and be able to go right to the internet, but all of a sudden, it started making us use the password to access the internet. And we used to be able to take the laptop on travel with us and use wireless if available in the area we were. But now if we go somewhere and there is wireless, it picks up the wireless signal, but the Internet won't work. Not matter what page we try to access, it say's no connection. I can see the wireless signal and that I am connected to the wireless, but it won't let me access the internet. To my knowledge, I didn't do anything to make this change in the wireless where I had to start entering the password at home and I'm assuming I can't access the internet because it is searching for my DSL wireless connect back home. Does this make sense and what do I need to do in order to access the internet when not at home, using a wireless connection? Any suggestions?

Not sure what the password issue is but when you are on travel you might try clicking on the Local Area Connection icon in the quick launch tray and selecting the repair function. That may force it to pick up a new IP and finish the link-up. Everytime I connect to anothe wireless link I have to perform a repair when I return to my home network.

Okay thanks. We are going away this weekend and used to be able to access the internet in this area. So I'll try this.

Thanks again for the suggestion!

Try to Re-install your wireless adapters driver's as well as the repair connection thing.
