| bought my wife a Inspiron 620 Slimtower ...... she can do all of her Ebay / Face book stuff, and it runs all of the kids new games

| As soon as you said "i dont game, but the kids might", I went from the "get whatever you like best" column to the get a desktop column. They can take more abuse. Much easier to replace a keyboard or a mouse or do an upgrade. Our laptop, which doesn't really get much hard use has been repaired, while under warranty, for a video card (when a cellphone was dropped on the keyboard as it was being handed to the person on the laptop), a broken keyboard when something foreign lodged itself under the keyboard, a bad spot on the monitor (that was a full replacement because it was in the middle of the screen) and something to do with the power connector. While I still think it is a good laptop, if it hadn't been under warranty for those issues, I wonder if we'd have just chucked it and gotten a desktop. For all of the repairs, the laptop was out of service until the repair tech could come out, and when he didn't have the necessary part, until the part could come in and he could come back out again.
