If that's all she does, you might consider ditching the computer and getting a tablet like the Nexus 7.

Thanks, that was very helpful. As the other poster mentions, that card was a TV tuner card.

Based on your service tag information, it looks like you have an integrated video card based on the intel 865G chipset.

First thing I'd do is get the software side fixed (ie the screensaver can run without error). I first suggest installing the latest Intel supplied Driver.

If that doesn't work, try the latest one Dell provides (which appears a bit older than the Intel one). Here is latest Dell driver

Hopefully that will fix the software issue, and the resolution issue is a simple fix after that..

Thanks to all, I tried all of this and none of it would load. I think we are going to go on and make the decision as to what we are going to do with this antique. Probably end up with a new computer

We were in Best Buy Saturday and she saw the new Ipad... "Dayumn, I really like this. Will probably do all I want to do." $500.00 but if you buy it from them, you can get a year of Geek Squad for up to 3 units for $99.00. Still thinkin!

Wouldn't use Geek Squad if they paid me $99 a year.
