d/cd drive on laptop

My laptop no longer automatically recognizes a new game or cdrom in my drive... I cant get it to load manually either... any suggestions? Or should I call Geek Squad? Is there any other way to do this if it doesnt automatically start giving me installation directions when I put the disk in?

I figured this out!! Some how the guts on my slide out tray thingy that takes the cd-rom... had all slid to inside near hole part of cd, room, its loose, I slid it all the guts back to the right and outter circle and it works!

I'm not good with hardware stuff, just software.

But the cd-rom tray is hardware and you fixed it, so you're good at it.
