Not if your hard drive crashes. Of course, you could keep a copy on Dropbox or something similar.

Or you can create a zip folder and email it to yourself where it will be kept forever. I create folders in yahoo mail for this. You can also back it up to an external drive.

I would think in case of an audit, you would have to show the actual receipt.
What would stop somebody from changing the receipt?

That's a good question. It would be pretty easy to Photoshop a receipt.

Which is why I said to save the originals.

Most people don't back their systems up locally, let alone a cloud drive, so having the original is a smart thing.

The thermal paper that alot of store receipts are printed on is basically disappearing ink, cant tell you how many of those receipts I saved that went blank on their own.
