Question for those with Metro problems..some web pages wont load?

Hey all,

This question is aimed at just those of us having problems with Metrocast right now.

Question: As of sunday I can load some web pages, but others get "stuck" and wont load all the way. Are any of you experiencing this? For example my hotmail account is hit or miss. Sometimes it loads fine...other times not at all, and other times I can get in.. but then it freezes.

Also as of Monday at 12 pm .... Im at 3500 down/1000 up (it will be crap again around 3pm as the kiddes get home), tracerts are fine, and ping times fine...but still having issues with pages loading... this is what has me puzzled.

I clocked speeds of 3800 and 3900 kbps last night on two tests. I wasn't having any problems with any site. Hotmail has always loaded like crap for me. I don't use it any more.

Thanks Steve....

Last night even at 1 am I was at about 1200 kb/s down (out of my 4000). Im still hanging at 3000 right now at 2pm.

Its not just hotmail that was doing this. Other websites were also (like my yahoo home page, and google..)

Seems to be working now though....they must be working on the CMTS. I just wish they wouldnt take 3-4 months (or more) to fix this..

You have to be patient. I've been waiting about 3 years for my speeds to get up to where they're supposed to be. I was shocked at 3800 last night. I only did the test because I noticed a download streaming at ~500 KBps, which I've never seen from Metrocast/GMP. That was at about 8:30. I'll test again tonight.

So YOUR the one sucking all the bandwidth

Just count your lucky stars you have good service (for now). I have been with comcast and GMP...both companies sucked. Comcast refused to upgrade a node that they had 600 people on (limit is 140-200).

At least metro is "supposedly" upgrading the CMTS to handle the load....its only taking them 4 months so far
