S.M.A.R.T. Hard Drive

Haven't looked up the acronym yet, but it's implemented in my 2+ year old hard drive. The technology works - the hard drive was able to tell me it was dying and needed replacement, but because of the advance warning I was able to rescue all the data I need, and it may even boot up one more time so the O.S. and other software can be copied over to a new drive. I'm pleased and impressed! (Currently online using my now-crammed-full-of-data laptop).
