Wow - according to my papers...

How will the attorneys be paid?

The lawyers for the class members will request 27.5% of the estimated $313,000.000 expected to remain in the settlement fund after deducting costs for administering the settlement and notices, plus interest, for attorneys' fees for investigating the facts.

So, that comes out to: $8,607,500

They will also request reimbursement of their expenses, not to exceed $5,000,000, to be paid from the settlement fund.

So, the attorney's will get: $8,607,500 plus $5,000,000 equals $13,607,500.

Now, if you have as many class members as I imagine - I wonder who really wins in a Class Action Suit?

According to "google" - most class action suits have a clause for "left over funds." They normally go to charity, etc.

Not that this is web site is valid but it did explain more on this topic. This site reports that it is legit.

Here is the link to the U.S. District Courts:

If you want to take the extra step you can report it to the USPS here:

Or contact the FTC: FTC’s toll-free numbers (1-877-FTC-HELP and 1-877-ID-THEFT)
Good luck!

I was suspicious, so... I checked Snopes and got nothing. I Googled and hit on a bunch of forums and blogs talking about it. After a quick perusal, I've seen several people say they have received the same thing in the past few days and it's legitimate, and some who have already filed for their refund.

I had to wonder because the last - and only - time I have had any "foreign transactions" in the past decade was 2001. But unless something negative pops up, what the heck...
My mom got it because of her trip to Mexico and my sis for her trip to Canada.

I vote scam. Have you ever seen a official letter that was not signed by a person and not a title?
