| We have very close ties with the owners of QBH and I can be 99.9% sure they are not in bankruptcy. My brother works for them and my father worked for them for 15 years before his death. My 2 uncles also sub-contract for Quality. |

| I don't agree with the Q in QBH. They built my house 5 years ago that I bought in the summer 07 and there is very little quality in it. To use drywall nails instead of screws is just ignorant. I would not buy a home from them again. My house that I had built last year used screws and it was much better. Its simple and may be dumb to some, but a little thing like that was enough to make me think very low of them. Oh also they didn't insulate the entire attic. When I had my home inspection done we found they "forgot" to do part over the master bath, and in the front of the master bedroom. |

| They also use construction adhesive to hold the drywall on, a real ##### if you want to take a piece out for something. |

| I know 100 % that Quality Built Homes is most definately NOT filing Chapter 11. I work closely with the owners on a daily basis. The fact that anyone would say that is ludicrous at best. They had one of thier best years ever last year and are staged to have another great year in '08. Rumors are rotten but I guess there isn't much you can do to stop them. As far as Marrick Homes goes I have heard nothing but positive news and they are NOT filing either. |

| You are wrong. QBH is owned by brothers Rod and Dale Gertz. |

| Not at all correct. Quality Built Homes is owned by brothers Rod and Dale Gertz. The only connection to Long and Foster would be that thier mother and stepfather, Grace and Ed Anastasi, used to be in charge of the sales department and worked through Long and Fosters office in Prince Frederick. The Anastasi's are now happily retired and the sales department is now headed by Doug and Sharon Smith. Quality Built Homes main office is located in the industrial park on route 231, they are flourishing and continuing to give back to this community. They are good people with nothing bad to say about anyone. The same can be said for the folks at Marrick Homes. |

Ditto to all you said...Was wondering what all the talk about them being owned by Long & Foster came from. R & D are AWESOME as well as the whole company and all their staff.

When the house was built 8 years ago, it was written in the contract that any builder defects discovered in the first year would be fixed free of charge. Well, the first big rain we had after the house was completed showed a defect. Somehow, water was leaking into the basement from the front door. Marrick was obliging the first time but the next rain happened and we realized the problem was still there. This cycle continued for a while and it got to the point where our calls fell on deaf ears. I guess Marrick thought that since the year had passed they didn't have to fix the problem. My mom eventually took it upon herself to fix the leak. Turns out all that was needed was a storm door. Also, we had problems with the vent work in our house. When the fan turned on, we heard a clanging. Mom had a company come out numerous times to check out where the sound was coming from. They charged each time so they knew there must be a problem or they found a stupid client. Turns out, the last person to come out got fed up with not finding anything so he hit the return vent in the basement in frustration. That is the first time anyone from the company had heard the clang. The source of the clanging-someone had been using the return as a trash can. Whenever the fan turned on, the trash hit the sides. Now, what does all this have to do with Marrick? I thought the builder was supposed to of had the house cleaned before move in. Oh, one more thing. People were also using a corner of the basement as a urinal. So yeah, not a big fan of Marrick but there is no love lost between my family and the company.

| I talked with my brother this evening to disspell any rumors about QBH's supposed bankruptcy. Currently he is working in "North Point", in Waldorf. Says that Merrick started building about 5 or so homes and that was all they built (Kind of like the scenario with Cross Point [on the Calvert/Anne Arundel Co. line]). He also has a feeling they are trying to stay alive b/c they have fired most of their superintendents. My brother is an assistant superintendent for QBH, he's 21 and has been there for a couple years now. He assures me that QBH is thriving right now. They have 14 superintendents each constructing about 15 homes right now. |
