These builders should have considered building smaller, less expensive starter homes. All they ever want to build are these McMansions because they can ask half a mil for them. There are only so many people in any given area who can afford that sort of thing and the competition is fierce.

So I don't really feel sorry for builders who bottom out, when a little market insight would have kept them afloat.

Not saying that QBH did that, just making a general observation.

I may be wrong, but I doubt it. Quality is owned by Long and Foster.

Don't some of the builders file bankruptcy because they don't want to pay the money they owe!!!! I heard of a few of builders that have admitted that and ofcourse no longer building. In my opinion, I think they do under another name but don't admit it.

QBH has recently (last month) been doing a lot of entrance work on 2 of it's new subdivisions in St. Mary's County, if they were going to bail I doubt they would have wasted money on continuing the projects.

I heard the same rummor about Marrick but not confirmations.

That doesn't mean that long and foster owns them. That would mean that someone who owns a long and foster franchise owns them. In regards to the bankruptcy question; I haven't heard any sort of serious rumor on the subject, and if that were the case it would be pretty big news!
