Not sure, but if I were you, I would be having him sign the title over to you solely at the same time of releasing his name from the loan. If you dont, because the title is in both of your names regardless of the loan being strictly in your name, he can still come get that vehicle whenever he wants and there is nothing you can do about it. You could never see it again and still be stuck with the loan. Learned that from dealing the boyfriend's crazy ex-biatch.
