Demand has increased world wide, as well as in the US. The US now imports not only oil, but refined gasoline as well. The tree huggers are doing their best to put a strangle hold on the economy because they have no concept of unintended consequences.

It makes people "feel good" to oppose drilling in ANWAR, off our coasts etc... But ask them to think about the consequences and they start complaining about record profits for oil companies etc...

Start complaining about the record "profits" the government takes in on fuel taxes and you will get deer in the head lights looks. Complain that our politicians bend over for every "Green" cause at the expense of our country's economy and stability and you will be called a Nazi.

So, put price controls on fuel and watch for long lines at the pumps again, more biotching, and the our politics pander to the sheeple by repeating the same mistakes over and over again.

There was an explosion at a refinery in Texas.

In totally unrelated news, there was a Grease-fire at a McDonalds in Achin' A-hole, Idaho last week. The price of Big Macs is is expected to reach $24.95

Probably the main reason the economy is currently in the crapper.

You have three vehicles and you complain about a few cents, sounds like you need to quit buying crap you really don't need.

Do you want to be my personal finance manager? I only own one and a half vehicles. All 3 are paid for. We got the car for $900. I think $900 for a car that gets great gas mileage is worth it when you can park your other 2 in the driveway. And we do need all 3 vehicles. We don't drive the SUV and truck to work, but they are still needed. The truck gets used for work...like towing trailers and hauling stuff? The SUV is needed for trips where everyone (and the dog) need to go. So, I appreciate your interest in my finances, but I assure you, it's under control.
