Why do cash registers use disappearing ink?

Just curious why cash registers use magical disappearing ink? Ever notice that a receipt magically turns blank right before you need it to return something for warranty return?

Cash registers don't kill people....

I've noticed the disappearing ink, too. I make copies of important receipts.

So the retailer doesnt have to honor their return policy since they cant tell where you purchased the item from

Circuit City tried the crap with me one time. I told them to F Off it was the original, and now they have to find their copy. I ended up winning in the end. I love 800 numbers, It works best to call them while the manager can hear the entire call.

Most good company's will have everything saved on their point of sale machine. They should be able to look past stuff by credit card, if you used one.
