As for parents letting a child walk out looking like a stripper...there is a serious problem with that matter.
The point is a doll will not make a child do anything or act a certain way. It can be detrimental to their self-image, but as long as the parent provides the kid with a reality check, the damn doll shouldn't make them be a brat or a hootchie. My kids would never have them (if I had kids) just because they don't convey the message I want to reach my daughter. The message they convey is that it's cool to be half naked, and painted like a geisha all the time....

These are the same kids that will be easy prey for Abercrombie and Fitch's soft core porn disquised as a catalog. "Hey, it's cool to dress in barely anything and pose for the camera with your naked boyfriend!" It seems to me that pushing the envelope of taste and propriety is the name of the game in advertising. I hope I can keep my little ones away fromt he horrid wave of stuff targeted for the next generation, but I have no illusions.
