extended warranties

I never ever buy them... but my dad swears by them... My dad bought #2 son a VIORE TV with a 2 year extended warranty so with the manufacturer's warranty it was due to expire Nov. 27, 2012. I've gone through every single trouble shooting option several times... TV's toast 2 weeks 4 days after the warranty expired-hence the reason I never purchase the extended warranty. Honestly, I'm surprised the TV lasted this long. I found a Sony at a good price just to stick in our spare room.

You gotta love how stuff breaks so soon after the warranty expires.

Call their help number. We had a similar issue with my parents' vizio, and they honored the warranty...Oh, and another plus...their customer service spoke English. We were extremely impressed with Vizio and their customer service. When the tvs at my house go, they will be replaced with Vizios.

I'll call and at least attempt but our warranty is expired so I expect them to say no. My stuff never breaks while under warranty. Well, my Shark vacuum had the dirt clamp fall off and they shipped me a new one but other than that... I cannot remember when something I had broke within the warranty period.

The period being warrantied is the expected shelf-life of the product. The odds of a product breaking during the shelf-life are calculated in the manufacturer's favor.

As for extended warranties don't. Put the money you would pay for the warranty into a savings account and self-insure.

Beware of Malwarebytes for your computer.

I bought a one year subscription with them and my computer literally blew up the next day.

They refused to cover my new computer and told me I needed to pay for a new policy.

I made a stupid mistake. This TV is a VIORE NOT a VIZIO.

With electronics the extended warrienties are a total ripoff. Electronics have whats called a bathtub failure profile meaning that they normally fail early in their life or late in their life.

Agree... of course I didn't buy the extended warranty with the new TV I got.
