7 Crappy Products, Courtesy of the Green Movement

7 Crappy Products, Courtesy of the Green Movement
Remember the days before low-water toilets when you could use someone's bathroom without fear of humiliation?

In the good old days, consumers got what they wanted. Supply and demand, not causes or ideology, governed product design and manufacturing. That’s why we have great American icons like the 1969 Chevy Camaro, the charcoal-burning Weber grill, and DDT.

But things have changed. The Green Movement’s worship of scarcity has changed the consumer landscape for the worse. Instead of big, powerful, and, most importantly, effective products, in 2012 consumers must suffer with pansy products. Sure, they are designed to save energy and make you feel good. But they just don’t work as well as the old, and usually cheaper, versions.

Below are seven crappy products we must endure, courtesy of the Green Movement.

1. Low Water Toilets
2. Mercury-Filled Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs
3. The Boeing 787
4. Front-Loading Clothes Washers - [my grand mother had one in the 1970's]
5. The Chevy Volt
6. Highly Collapsible Water Bottle
7. Quiet High-Efficiency Dishwashers

[I would add Bio Fuel Burning Jets - how is that going to turn out]

They put all those waterless urinals in the building I work in when it was built back in 2005ish. Last year they had to rip them all out because they were constantly clogged up and the undiluted pee destroyed the sewer pipes. Tens of Thousands of dollars wasted because someone had the bright idea to use an untested product.

HA I remember reading in the Tester how great those were going to be and all I thought was that bathroom is going to smell like a portapotty all the time.

Green caused the space shuttle Colombia disaster, the foam that fell off the fuel tank was the "green" version and did not work as well as the old foam.
