I signed up for that years ago, thinking the tests would be cool and weed out the ones who were really wrong for me to date...

I immediately got an email saying that no one met my criteria and that it seemed that no one, out of thousands of people registered on the site were even closely compatible to me.

But they said to keep my head up and they'd keep checking

Did I mention I was voted most original person in my junior high school?:lmao

Since when are being religious and having values directly related? The average religious person is just as screwed up as the average non-religious person. Of course, they never see it that way...

Yes, I asked if you were joking about reporting the post for "religionist comments," because that would be absolutely absurd, being that there is nothing anti-religion mentioned in it. If you were being sarcastic, that's cool and it just didn't come across as well in print as it would have in person.

I said similar values--meaning a Christian would find another Christian to have similar values to their own. You can replace both occurences of the word "Christian" in the previous statement with Atheist, Buddhist, Jewish, Satanist, Pastafarian, etc. It's not a matter of values vs. non-values. It's a matter of the compatibility of those values.

And I'm saying that religion has about as much to do with people's values as their IQ does. Values, morals, whatever are basically the same across all cultures, religions, creed. Sure, religions preach up and down about 'em, but 1. the message is basically the same (religious fanatics aside) and 2. of everyone I've met, all would've had the same values- or lack thereof- if their religious stance was any of the above.

ok, so it was a joke. You could have said that. It's hard to tell these days, with so many people offended by religious beliefs and the difficulty of effectively using sarcasm in print.

But a lot of people want more than just a basic similarity in values with someone they would like to spend the rest of their life and raise a family with, and there's nothing wrong with that.

That's part of why you lurk a bit and get a feel for things. This place is one big playground.

you're not getting it. Religion does not decide people's values. People decide people's values regardless of religion.
