Call me "Old Fashion"

My g/f and I had a discussion last night about, does it matter when in a committed serious relationship for the male to say, "I Love You" first or the female.

Call me old fashion but I feel it should be the male.

How you were brought up? So your mom and dad sat you down and said, "Now redneck, don't you go tellin that there boy you love him first; that's his job. Run along dear and wash the dishes, it's time for you to do wimmens work."

J/P...I honestly don't think it matters who says it first. If you (or your 'friend') feels it, then say it.

Honestly it has to do more with my grandmother, don't do this, don't do that, what for him to ask you out....etc. etc.

She is in love, wants to tell him, doesn't know how to tell him. Wants to surprise him with something, like dinner and a poem. We ended up getting on the topic who should be first to say it.
