| That's what I've heard. Have you ever been in one? But I know a few folks who have one partner working OTR and they've lasted years. We met when he was here over a year ago and after one bump in the road have been doing really well since June ![]() I just hate it when he calls me and tells me something is wrong and I'm not there for him. A tree fell on his 73 year old father today and he just happened to arrive there to store his Harley for the winter a few hours later. He's upset, and now I'm upset. His dad is lucky Kenny showed up. This is pretty tough, but I love him a lot.:fingerscrossed:

| But seriously, he was here for a year and he has 5 months in Michigan, two in PA and who knows after that. The plan is to keep this job for about 15 more years. He makes great money with great benefits. My kids will both be 18 before then, and I would love to live on the road. Afterwards, he lives in WV and that's where I want to live, so it's perfect in the long term. If only I could get him to rollerskate ![]()

| That's what I get for trying to be helpful? It'll never work. You're doomed. And the Poconos suck , too. Polar Bears eat bad skiiers. |

I'm guessing this question was geared to those who know you and your situation. For what it's worth, you're willing to travel. And if you have a set plan as to when you can get together...and it's not "too" far down the road, I think you can work it. Alot of things I don't know, but I DO think with a set timetable, along with good visits and solid communication until then, I think you can be okay. ![]() Unless a Polar Bear eats you first.

There's not really a question, per se. I just noticed there was no thread devoted to long distance relationships in here. I figured with this being a military town and there always being people coming and going, it was relative to the board. ![]() We make time to visit and sooner or later things will progress further, if ti's meant to. Polar bears don't like me BTW, witches taste like absinthe and smoke ![]()

I dated a witch. She tasted like smoke and whiskey. Anyways.... I've been in many "long distance realtionships", due to my time in the Air Force. And none of them really worked out...as far as "happily ever after" or that kind of stuff. Though, my long distances were from the US to Germany,, or more extremely the US to Australia. That US to Australia...that's as far as you can get. Never had a chance. Though we've been friends for years...which is worth everything. I think...just me, thinking out loud...you have a shelf life of getting together on a daily basis. Because, sooner or later, both you and he will start to look for someone who you can hang out with, consistently. Regularly. And eventually that will lead to more. I think you can make it work for a bit, with a clear plan. But if you go longer...and more ambiguously, with no dates but a "sooner or later" thing...it may be tough. But like said....what do I know? I'm a big dummy.
