Ha! That won't happen! She has been in my life for over 20 years. This was the first time I remember ever ordering for her and she was wondering what the hell I was doing... so we just had casual conversation about the subject and I told her about a date that had complimented me for ordering for her.... I guaranteed her that it would be hard to find many women with the same view as hers that don't enjoy the chivalry.

oh OKAY... that's different. I would find that unusual if I had been hanging out with somebody for 20 years, who never ordered for me before did so. I assumed this was a 1st date deal. dur me.

Well, she not only thought it was unusual for me to do it for her but that the whole concept was unusual and sexist.... She is a freak and I love her!

Maybe somebody or yourself could fill me in on why that wouldn't be appropriate on a 1st date. I remember a date ordering for me on the 1st date but we actually knew each other for a while before that between work and other social circles. I've been married for more than 2 decades.

Out last night and as I reached to open her car door, she grabbed it and tried to hop in the car before I could perform my gentlemanly duties.
Door left her hand, hit mine, bounced back as she was trying to hop in the car.
Top corner of the door caught her just under the eye.

Mine and Larry's first date, Murphy's in Alexandria. We walk to the table and he gets ahead of me to pull out a seat...and I diverted around the table to the other one, thinking he wanted to sit there.

This has been a source of amusement and one of those "stories" ever since. So you'd think I'd learn, but....

Went on a date a few weeks ago, Cafe des Artistes. He moved to pull out the chair and sunny bean if I didn't do it again. Diverted to the other chair. You can take the girl out of Nebraska...

Anyway, now you have a cute story to tell about your and her courting days.
