I don't think a well placed shot is humane at all. The last thing the dog sees is the one it loves the most pointing a gun to kill him, and even the best shot can go wrong. Why not just take it to the vet and let it go peacefully, or maybe get a few more years out of life because the hurt is something curable?

Fricking farmers. (drivin all slow leavin poop on the road and shooting dogs for no good reason old goats-my dad is one-Happy Father's Day)
