I have a good question about bruno

Can someone tell me how dogs get ear infections? Bruno has both of her ears are infected for the first time. I have never dealt with this before and could use any helpful hints on how to do this with just me doing it since I have no other help. How do I hold her head still so she doesn't shake and the stuff from her ears land all over me since I am a one person team doing this since my grandparents keep saying she is your dog take care of her when she technically isn't my dog shes my stepdads dog as my grandfather keeps saying in his 2nd breath.

She also has been a little whiney too but that can be expected her ears must hurt.

Forgot to mention bruno is a st bernard
