My dog is killing my hostas

Does anyone know a way I can keep my dog from urinating on my hostas? Homemade remedy maybe? We used chili pepper/powder when he was a puppy to keep him from chewing on them and that worked wasn't sure if that would help in this situation. TIA.

Drag him away when you see him about to lift leg. Take him to approved pee spot. Give treat when done. Continue until he learns.

Pee on them yourself to mark your territory and then growl at the dog whenever he comes near the hostas

Run an extension cord out there, strip it back to leave two leads about 18" long, then bury one in the hostas and one where the dog stands to pee. Then saturate the soil and let him go.

Sounds like something hubby would do. We have a shock collar and hubby said shock the "piss" (no pun intended, haha) out of him when he tries to pee on the plants, I'm afraid the poor thing will quit peeing all together and start using his kennel as his personal toilet.

My cat brought me a bat last night as a gift. Do you think he's trying to tell me something?
