Pretty much all purebreeds have known deficiencies that can possibly be passed on. The solution seems to be to kill the defective puppies in many cases.

I think the real issue doesn't lie in people over breeding animals, the larger issue is individuals who get an animal and don't commit to caring for it for its entire life. I personally don't care who breeds what, or who buys what, just so long as you make the commitment to that animal to take care of it forever.

I'll be damned if I "adopt" an animal from any source

Amen! And it's a very time-consuming, expensive and dirty job sometimes if you want to get right down to it. However, having pets as kids, you just realize that their presence in your life can never be negatively measured by those things it takes to keep them healthy and well taken care of.

I find using the term "adopt" when obtaining an animal demeaning to people

A Qualified breeder that knows everything about their breed, knows exactly what shots and when, and how to care and raise a pup until it is safe to go out to a home.

Not some idiot reading "Golden Retrivers for Dummies" and has a few cardboard boxes in the backyard for kennels.

I have no problem adopting from a shelter if they have a dog that I want and is compatiable with my lil kids. I have been reading alot of post on this board when somebody come on and share there wonderful story or ask a question about a specific dog and they get bash by people whi think every dog should be adopted or if you are giving up your dog to a good home they should give it to a shelter. There were many post from people who was relocating their animals to a good home and omg you would have thought they were trying to kill their pets. I just think we need to give your opinion without bashing and try to help each other out. I thought this board was for the love of dogs and dog lover.
