Well... it peaked my interest

I was browsing dog pictures on Woofsites and came across this one. Not so sure I'd use it as my main picture to get people to visit my site. The second picture is down-right funny and the third is amazing. I've never seen a dog so closely resemble a wolf in all my life. The owner doesn't say what kind it is, just Mixed/Other.

I met a couple this weekend at the Cobb Island Festival, who run a petsitting business who had two of those dogs that look like wolfs. I asked the man what they were and he said Native American aplichans (sp) I think. They were georgous and huge just like a wolf..

The closest ones are in Michigan and the pups range from $1000 to $1500 depending on the Sire and Dam.

Beautiful creatures though aren't they?

Absolutely. Our malamute was about that much $$$ so it's ok. I started looking at websites and they seem good tempered like Malamutes but the one thing that stood out is that they shouldn't be crate-trained as they see it as punishment.

Not many breeders to choose from but I've noticed that most only have one Sire and several Dams. That seems odd. My malamute's dad seems to be the main "male" at the breeder but they atleast have other males there. I check periodically to see if she has any half-brothers or sisters. Her mom hasn't been pregnant since mine was born almost a year ago.
