Well my poor little barney had all kinds of crap wrong with him when we got him to the vet. They said it would be best for us to just end his suffering. So we did. To this day my heart breaks when I think about that little dog. Best little dog ever put on this earth.

Sorry to hear that. Don't take that wrong. I wasn't trying to compare, just saying I had a dog that lost his eye to another dog. Didn't realize it was that common.

Also, dachshunds are sneaky little Germans. While their necks may break more easily than a pit's, you don't suspect them. They're plotting. They'll run right in front of your foot and trip you down that same flight of stairs you just tried to paralyze them with and BAM! You're twitching at the foot of the stairs with the hungry pit bull who will take the blame when you're finally discovered 3 days later gnawed to death. World Domination, one human at a time. aggressive doesn't = dangerous.

also large doesn't = dangerous

many of the large breeds typicaly are very calm controlled animals (especially when properly trained)

its up to the owners (and should be up to the breeders if they are responsible) to identify the ones with any agressive nature and remove them from the gene pool.

what people forget with statistics is that more pits are put down in shelters every day than there are pit attacks in a year.

pits do not have "locking" jaws, infact their bite has been tested to be weaker than a german sheperd's.
