Doing fine, thank you!

It really makes it easier knowing he didn't suffer. While losing him was heartbreaking, I have plenty of fond memories of him, and those far outweigh the past few days of tough decisions.

Sorry to read about your dog too.

I have to agree I actually am feeling better now knowing she's not stressed and in pain. It was hard because I kept grabbing a cookie for her when I got one for the other dogs. Then I just would remember her and smile.

It takes a while.... after we had to put our Jezzy girl down I still kept trying to feed her! My lab missed and looked for her for a few days. Broke my heart. Still only have one dog at the moment. Waiting for the right one to find us to adopt. Hope you and your furry family members are doing okay.

We adopted one of our babies from ARF (Well Pet Clinic) in Lexington Park. He has been such a joy to have. They hold adoptions every Saturday I believe.

Sort of related but only slightly. My in-laws seem to be the ones who get custody of dogs when their owners pass away. My father-in-law has always made a point of taking the dog to the funeral home (during non-visiting hours) to see their owner. He feels they can sense that their master is dead and that it calms them down. I've never gone with him, but he says he just walks the dog around the casket and then sits with the dog in the front row for a few minutes.

That is a really caring and loving thing to do. Your FIL is awesome, and, obviously, a great friend to man and loyal pet. Thanks for sharing that.
