How so?

Considering there are other breeds who have a higher bite pressure than pits, and are larger than pits, why only pits?

If we are basing (hypothetically) legislation based on what a dog COULD do, why not add all large dogs. Technically, they COULD cause huge damage also.

I've been around a few, I've called the cops on a few, and I've had a few friends who put them down, all the while saying "s/he was never aggressive before".

I have personally never seen any other breed of dog, consistently do as much damage to a person, as a pit type.

They COULD, but they don't.

Sugar Gliders are high maintenance. Please do not purchase/adopt before researching. They require a specialized diet, lots of your time, lots of room, and vet bills can be high. They can live to 15+ years.

I'll also add, that I don't care for the statistics, or the bite pressure, or the 'oops' of the police dogs.

I care about what I have personally experienced.

Fair enough.

I've personally seen more Chihuahuas, yorkies, pms, and other small dogs be consistantly agressive.

But that's ok because they are small?

No, you care about stats when they help your case.

If you were debating another subject to someone else, you'd use as many stats as you could to make your point.

If that person said "I don't care about stats", you'd call them full of sh!t, and any further discussion on the matter would be null and void because that person isn't willing to accept anythign outside of their world.

You know what? My dogs bite. And they attack.

Granted, they're only about 7lbs each but I don't want them hurting anyone or getting taken away from me or getting shot by the cops so I do not let them into any situation where that might happen.

Having said that, I absolutely understand that accidents happen so I think it's really important for owners to fully understand the risks they are taking when they select a pet. It's important for them to understand the consequences if something happens.

If you have a dog, it might bite or get loose. If you have a big dog, it'll hurt someone when it bites or get shot by the cops if it gets loose. Because of that, many breeds are not accepted by landlords or in certain counties so you may not be able to take them with you if you need to relocate. And you are the only person responsible for that if it occurs. Plan accordingly. Think it through.

The Pit Bull debate is very emotionally charged. The data can be presented to support both sides of the debate and it can serve to successfully confuse others. Because of that, it'll never go away. And neither will Pit Bulls. Instead of arguing about it, we should be coming up with a better way to negotiate this so fewer people get hurt.

Please show me where I have ever posted stats. Please.

I'm not trying to change your mind, I'm just expressing my point of view.
I could really give a rats ass if your dog eats you, as long as I never have to deal with your dog.

Seriously? You're going to compare any one of those dogs to a pit? That's ####ing laughable. I could crush the skull of one of those little rats just by stepping on it. Good grief. Really?

And this is why after a while I just give up. They start posting the silliest $hit ever like bite pressures etc. and to continue with them is ridiculous.

Yet Larry calls me Piers and claims victory. If Frederick wasn't so far, I'd drive up there and kick him in the shin.

I'll pitch in some gas money. But seriously, Larry's only interest is the argument itself, not what the argument is about.
