| Sometimes adding water to the food helps.

| When switching foods try it gradually - start by having 90% old food with 10% new food. If he is a picky eater leave it like that for a week if neccessary, then decrease the ratio of old and increase the new over a period of a few weeks. This is better for some dogs' systems so they can adjust. Don't try to cold turkey switch him to different food if he is so discerning. For flavor try adding some turds (NOT - just joking!!!)

| We've never had this issue with our dog. We started feeding him "Chicken Soup" brand, and he's always loved it. He does have strange taste though. He refuses (actually, barks at) any raw chicken bones, and turns his nose at liver, which is almost unheard of. At any rate, good luck. ![]()

| Let me tell you something! If they made turd-flavored dog food, one would probably lick the bowl (she likes a CLEAN anus ) and the other would NOT be on the same floor! We can tell when Emma has been being hygienic by her breath a mile away ![]() Meanwhile, Lily won't even touch a ball that goes within inches of her own pile (say, she has to go, but has a ball in her mouth.... drops the ball where she is... goes... WILL NOT TOUCH THAT BALL AGAIN....) These two are so food spoiled that even the neighbor was mifted when he went out and bought generic treats for all the dogs in the hood... Gave it to one of the princesses and she spit it out.... Even with their treats, they are picky.... Baked goods from the treat bar at PetCo... Old Mother Hubbard... Jumbones... I just lay out a few and let them pick which one they want... ![]() I'd say though, I prefer that over poop eating any day! ![]()

I've heard that if a dog is eating poop, it's because of a vitamin/protein deficiency. I recommend NOT using Ol' Roy. I used to feed that to my dog (when I had one) and he came up with something called 'hot spots'. The vet immediately asked me what type of food I was feeding him. They said his hot spot was more than likely caused by the food I was feeding him. I switched him to Iams and he never had that problem again. Saving money on your pet's food isn't always the best for your dog. | |
