I'd say posting threats online towards the school or its inhabitants is punishable on some level. Or should be. His parents must know about this by now so you would think they would keep him home or away from the school.

Terrorist threats are against the law. Surely breaking the law is against school rules, although I'd have to see their handbook to be certain.

I am really surprised that parents havent been notified of the incident. I mean I get anywhere from 3-7 calls a week from SMCPS regarding PTA crap, late buses, after school activities Yet some whackado post he is going to pull a Columbine at my childs school and I dont even get a courtesy call saying "nothing is going on" "it was a rumor" "not a credible threat" whatever. Bull####!

If you're correct, we would be seeing something on local media about a juvenile having been arrested. Are we getting the whole story here?

I get that I remember the rumor mills from my HS days. I still think the school should make some type of call or send somethign home w/ students to set parents at ease. This isnt Bobby is going to fight John on friday during lunch kinda scenario.

Should be pretty easy to verify if he indeed posted threats. But you're right - some kid says he saw something on another kid's FB, and the rumor mill takes it from there.
