MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) - The prom is supposed to be a night to remember for high school students and Miami Beach Senior High School students will certainly remember theirs this year. That is because prom was held at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the same venue that was simultaneously holding the Exxxotica Expo, a pornography convention.

"Oh no I don't like that," said Loise Carter, a mom. "That is terrible I don't like it."

Many parents had their concerns. Some even showed up at the convention center to make sure things were OK for their children. But with police security and an army of teachers and staff outside there was no opportunity for students to stray or mix with Exxxotica convention goers.

"We have hired police officers," said Gwen Zaldivar, the Activities Director for Miami Beach Senior High School. "We are working together with the Miami Beach Convention

Center to make sure they have their security in place as well."

Staff outside of the prom firmly discouraged students from talking to the media.

One student told CBS 4 News she thought it was "a shame," that the prom was held at the same venue as a porn convention.

And they had the most men chaperones to volunteer in the history of American proms.

These seniors should care less about the expo convention next door, just bring a camcorder to their after-prom hotel room party and submit the resulting video to next year's convention.

I chaperoned a Prom for Southern Highschool in Anne Arundel county a few years back. The entire prom could've been a porn movie the way the kids were dancing and some of the dresses the girls wore.
