2 students forced to hold hands as punishment

2 Mesa students forced to hold hands as punishment for fighting

MESA, AZ - Two East Valley high school students were forced to hold hands in front of their classmates as punishment this week for fighting.

Now that punishment is drawing criticism.

The students at Westwood High in Mesa were apparently given the option to hold hands instead of being suspended.

This reminds me of my late father. Everytime me and my older brother fight, he would give us an option to either get on our belly for some asswhopping with the belt, or to hug and kiss each other. I've always chosen the asswhopping and he can't understand why.

My brother and I had to sit on the stairs and hug as punishment when we fought.

Sounds like a better punishment than suspension

I like it.

I make my boys stand next to eachother as close as possible and smile real big and take a pic. Then I show them how much they love eachother so quit fighting. One day this subtle brain washing will work and they will believe it.

Then, who will they learn how to fight from???!!!

Boys fight! It is what they do!

Holding hands, I think, is more for the parents enjoyment while watching their two hellions squirm about.

seriously?

There aren't many feelings that can top a mildly-to-somewhat-unfriendly tustle with an older or younger brother. . .the kind of tustle where the end result is due one of the following:
1. jammed or stubbed fingers/toes
2. bloodied something
3. eye gets poked (but often times the tustle never ended here)
4. one of you falls out of the tree
5. both of you are spanked for busting up the furniture
6. Dad jumps in and wrangles both of you into submission
7. bb-guns
8. both parties are exhausted laying on the floor, twitching toward each other as if still trying to take jabs

...the list could go on. . .
