| Oh damn.... I saw the title of this thread and thought maybe the state had finally wised up and given him the death penalty. Imagine my disappointment. ![]()

I am against the death penalty.I was so proud of our Governor O'Malley when he came out against the death penalty. See an O'Malley report HERE. ![]() There are many people and their horrible crimes that I personally feel that they deserve the death penalty, but then my conscience tells me that it is wrong to do such things even to those that appear to rightly deserve it. By killing criminal prisoners we become more degenerate ourselves. So I am hard set against the death penalty and I agree with all the reasonings given by our Governor for ending it. ![]()

His main reason is that some people are wrongly accused. Ok, even still what if they confess? What do you think of it then? Last edited by spicy : 06-15-2007 at 12:33 PM.

Confession is a sign of repentance and remorse so then to execute the person makes us wrong. ![]()

Jail / prison is really very hard on the inmates, and if it were not for things like TV and cards then the inmates will start killing themselves. It has already happened in the USA Gitmo jail in Cuba. It happens everywhere. And suicides create an unbelievable and horrible atmosphere in a jail as the spirits become uneasy and nothing is safe afterwards. Both the inmates and the guards will freak out if suicides are not controled both in jail and outside of jails. Even years ago when the Buddhist monks strarted killing themselves by fire in front of the Vietnam gov center then it sent chills thoughout the whole world until the gov was begging the monks to stop it and the law changed to help stop the monks. Gandhi did it by "fasting unto death" and he shook the whole Empire. Human beings require certain standards even in jails or else the jails explode with madness. ![]()
