Tenants also don't tend to take care of the property as well as a homeowner. By requiring a tenant to be registered [to pay a fee] it tends to make finding the responsible party a little easier. Or so I have noticed over the last couple of years. We don't seem to have the problems with the tenants that are registered and paid in full.

But I am sure there are other reasons...

Budman... I voted no on the budget increase and the increase of the Special Taxing District.... didn't you hear... those people on the committees don't like me because I don't play along nice... I say there's a better way to do things....

Vrai, can you create a "Bash JPC, Sr. Here" forum? Please.
So 2A, would you have started this thread if you knew it would be a "Becky is running for office" thread?

Becky, the problem as i see it is everyone there is trying to rape us, the members, wether its the ones favoring a M&O fee increase or you trying to triple tax people. There is no reason that a person who holds a rental property should have to pay full fees and then the rents also have to pay again- its just rediculous.
As for multiple lot owners having to pay multiple M&O fees i dont get that either. MAYBE if you drop the tenent fees and only charged additional M&O fees to actual landlords, but what about the people who own two or three connected lots of which only one is developed? Why should they have to pay additional fees to use the facilities, or am i mistaking what this fee is for?

If it's a triple lot and it could be deeded as one... then the owner would only have to pay one fee... one road fee... one Special Tax District....

If the owner chooses to pay the tenat fee that's on them....

I am not the one charging the tenant fee.... I am the one that wants the Landlord to pay an M&O on each house.... that's a horse of a different color

If you only have one rental... you pay one M&O.... it's the guy that owns 30 rentals that I want to pay 29 more M&O's get my drift... he pays the same as you the way it is now...

so you are going to drop the tennet fee after the landlords are paying multiple M&O fees?

What about the property owner that has more than one lot but only one is developed and the owner doesn't want to deed them as one, or they can't be becasue they are not adjoining?

Only thing I can say is that I learned my lesson with power hungry, oppressive HOA's in Maine many years ago. I chart my own course, rule my own kingdom and will not ever again have Mrs. Betty Joe Painintheass, Vice President of the HOA biatching at me because I violated some obscure rule in the "handbook" or assessing me a "special fee" to refurbish the flower beds by the entrance.

Funny observation, Tice seems set on keeping them out of her pocket by opposing the M&O hike on owners, but has little reservation reaching into others pockets with regard to the hike on renters.

Reminds me of a t-shirt I had long ago from a bar in Anchorage Alaska called Chilkoot Charlies "We cheat the other guy and pass the savings on to you."
