Well, I don't expect employment opportunities to be important to you. However, they are important to other people. How do you expect to represent SoMD if you do not have the same values as the majority of the population?

WHY should we vote for you? Give us a reason. One that benefits us, and not just you.

Oh please, Steny still shops at the PF Wal-Mart.

And the CEO and CFO of my company have copies of a picture taken with him next to our sign up in their offices- and they're Republicans!

Blame (growth) on the State or on the County Commissioners when it is Hoyer doing the dirty works by Hoyer's own words
The people of St. Mary's County have the highest amount of input into the growth. Make housing unaffordable, and people won't come regardless of the jobs. Make crime skyrocket, and people won't want to live here. Make traffic, schools, water, and other infrastructure grow slower than the population growth, and people won't want to be here.

So, see, the Commissioners are doing all of these things, just not strongly enough. They clearly don't want the growth, because they're not providing the infrastructure for the growth that is occuring. You could run for a county position, and have more power to block growth than you could on the federal level.

You're upset that he's been a responsible citizen his whole life?

And, you're running for a job that you refer to as no "real job at all"? Just what exactly are your expectations in the snowball's chance in hell potential that you win even a primary, let alone an election? Do you think that being a representative of the people is no "real job at all"?

And, with that attitude, you expect to develop supporters?

I see, you believe that you would not have to represent the people of your district, you would be "the lawmaker", regardless of public sentiment. At least, it seems it must be that way, since you can clearly tell your concept of right and wrong is very different from those who would be your constituents, yet you would do things your way instead of theirs anyway.

Maybe you don't remember because you weren't here at the time, but he's already failed at that.

So he's done what any mega-loser would do: he's set his sights bigger!

Recently, he has also talked about going for the governorship. What's next?

This is not surprising, considering he also expects to gain followers by insulting them, threatening their jobs and income, and even referring to himself as a stupid flip-flopper who can't hold a position longer than he can hold his breath.

You make the mistake I repeatedly make with Jimmy; you provide factual information different than his "reality". He won't stand for that!

I also remember being in the man's law office when I was little, when Hoyer was my grandparent's attorney, so there goes his notion of Steny never having a real job.

When he [JPC] said that, he was referring to a job like one of the dozen manual labor jobs he held while he was still a semi-productive member of society.

It is funny though, as TP noted, that JPC now seeks to acquire this non-real job.

That was one of my biggest points,

that the rich and privledged are the Hoyer's group.

And indeed notice how the Republicans on this forum cheer on the Democrat sell-out Hoyer.

Assorted functions and khaki clothing have nothing to do with communicating with the voters on real issues, and Hoyer does speak to the rich and privledged.
We can volley words back and forth and you will continue not believing anything, so I searched and found two videos for you.
Hoyer speaks to a freelance reporter at a public event;
At 35 seconds, Hoyer speaks during the 2007 National Night Out in Hyattsville... and he is obviously not speaking from a podium or hiding from people.

Okay, so when will you be coming out to speak to the public?

Oh, that's right, you have refused to enter into any debate with Hoyer or to make any other public appearance as a political candidate.

I'm a Republican, and I don't particularly care for him. However, as I noted before (and you ignored), it takes a lot of work to be where he is today, and it takes no work at all to be where you are.

Speaking of ignoring, why did you ignore all of the questions I asked in this post?
