I do not answer that one because he keeps putting those innitials of profanity and I just can not deal with a pervert. Also his ludicrous claims that Napoleon was pro-slavery or pro-Israel are ridiculous. The USA was pro slavery when Napoleon ruled and Israel did not exist for another 100 years after Napoleon. And none of that stuff has anything to do with my new avater. ![]()

Some one else told me my old avatar was not prefered.I tried to find a "Dennis the Menace" avatar as that was recommended but I could not find one. The Napoleon was an avatar that I had used on another Forum and I had it in my computer file so I took it instead of actually using my real life picture which I could do. I will change the Napoleon avatar for some other if I like it - so I am open for suggestions. ![]()

In 1799, the French armies under Napoleon were camped outside of Acre. Napoleon issued a letter offering Palestine as a homeland to the Jews under French protection. The project was stillborn because Napoleon was defeated and was forced to withdraw from the Near East. The letter is remarkable because it marks the coming of age of enlightenment philosophy, making it respectable at last to integrate Jews as equal citizens in Europe and because it marked the beginning of nineteenth century projects for Jewish autonomy in Palestine under a colonial protectorate. After the defeat of Napoleon, it was largely the British who carried forward these projects, which have in hindsight been given the somewhat misleading name of "British Zionism." I think he was a supporter of Jewish autonomy, thus "Isreal".

I know how much you love Wikipedia. So, it seems he WAS pro-Isreal, and pro-slavery (where the USA stood is immaterial - we're talking about Napoleon, not the USA). So, back to MMDad's question - do you support these views of Napoleon? This is not an answer as to "why Napoleon", because you state you were using it elsewhere. Why Napoleon?

I wanted to change avatars and I searched through this Forum set of avatars and did not like any of them. And aside from personal pictures, the "Napoleon" is the only avatar that I have in my computer file. This is why I used Napoleon - just because it was there and available. ![]()

Do you understand you were wrong on your arguments against MMDad regarding; 1. Napoleon on slavery 2. Napoleon on Isreal, and 3. What TTFN means?
