Arrow Catholic Endorsement.

I have been contacted by representatives of the Catholic Church with the following questions.

Questionnaire for 2008 Candidates for the United States House of Representatives.
(A checked response will not be printed if it is accompanied by a qualifying statement.)

STEM CELL RESEARCH:

Do you support or support or oppose prohibiting the use of taxpayer funds for research that involves destroying
live human embryos to obtain cells for experimentation (embryonic stem cell research)?

Support __________ Oppose ___________

REFUGEE ASSISTANCE:

Do you support or oppose legislation to increase the number of visas available to refugees who are fleeing
persecution abroad, and to provide adequate funding for the U.S. refugee admissions program?

Support __________ Oppose ___________

INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE & PEACE:

Will you support or oppose a policy that limits the preventative use of U.S. military force in cases where
there is not clear and compelling evidence of an imminent attack on the United States?

Support __________ Oppose ___________

Will you support or oppose significant annual increases in poverty-focused development assistance to
reduce global poverty and increase the percentage of gross domestic product (GDP) contributed in foreign aid?

Support __________ Oppose ___________

IMMIGRATION:

Do you support or oppose legislation that would permit undocumented aliens who have been living in
the United States for a number of years and who do not have criminal records to earn legal status by paying fines, paying
back taxes, and agreeing to learn English?

Support __________ Oppose ___________

Do you support or oppose maintaining current law that permits American citizens and legal permanent residents to
petition for close family members, such as children, parents, and siblings, who are living abroad to come live in the United States?

Support __________ Oppose ___________

HEALTH CARE:

Do you support or oppose legislation to reform our healthcare system to ensure there is affordable, accessible
health care for all, especially for poor families with children and for persons with disabilities?

Support __________ Oppose ___________

EDUCATION:

Federal Financial Assistance: Do you support or oppose legislation to continue and expand current
federal laws that provide educational benefits to students and teachers in private and religious schools on a basis
equitable to what public school students and teachers receive?

Support __________ Oppose ___________

Parental Rights: Do you support or oppose legislation to provide federal financial assistance to
low-income parents to choose the schools that they believe are best suited for their children?

Support __________ Oppose ___________

ABORTION:

Do you support or oppose prohibiting the use of taxpayer funds to pay for abortion?

Support __________ Oppose ___________

Do you support or oppose legislation to prevent federal agencies and states that receive federal funds
from discriminating against health care providers who do not perform or participate in abortions (Hyde-Weldon Amendment)?

Support __________ Oppose ___________

(A checked response will not be printed if it is accompanied by a qualifying statement.)

My answer to each of these questions is that I check "Support" for all the questions above.

In fact I would push for more than they ask.

So now it is highly possible that I will get an endorsement from the Catholic Church against Hoyer.

That would be a huge turn of events.

It is most certain that Hoyer would "oppose" every one of those moral concerns and I doubt that Hoyer will even send in a reply as it would harm his campaign in 5th District.

Would you please provide the Constitutional basis for using my tax dollars for the first two above?

Also, if coming into the country ILLEGALLY is a crime, what "undocumented" illegal aliens are here without criminal intent?

Thanks!

STEM CELL RESEARCH:

I oppose use of taxpayer funds for the research.

I oppose.

Support

Will you support or oppose significant annual increases in poverty-focused development assistance to
reduce global poverty and increase the percentage of gross domestic product (GDP) contributed in foreign aid?

Oppose

IMMIGRATION:

Do you support or oppose legislation that would permit undocumented aliens who have been living in
the United States for a number of years and who do not have criminal records to earn legal status by paying fines, paying
back taxes, and agreeing to learn English?

Oppose :: if they are undocumented then they are already here illegally and as such they are criminals. The wording tries to make it see that they have done nothing wrong when they violated our laws.

Do you support or oppose maintaining current law that permits American citizens and legal permanent residents to
petition for close family members, such as children, parents, and siblings, who are living abroad to come live in the United States?

Oppose because of the wording. They should be allowed to petition, but that should not mean that they get to come in. children only. other than that they should be forced to go through the process from step one on.

HEALTH CARE:

Do you support or oppose legislation to reform our healthcare system to ensure there is affordable, accessible
health care for all, especially for poor families with children and for persons with disabilities?

Oppose :: This will only raise my taxes more.

EDUCATION:

Federal Financial Assistance: Do you support or oppose legislation to continue and expand current
federal laws that provide educational benefits to students and teachers in private and religious schools on a basis
equitable to what public school students and teachers receive?

Support, Those children in private and religious schools are not using state and federal resources for their edcuation, yet the parents are being taxed as though they were. I think that the edcuation dollar should be awarded to all schools based on the actual number of students that school has.

Parental Rights: Do you support or oppose legislation to provide federal financial assistance to
low-income parents to choose the schools that they believe are best suited for their children?

Oppose : People work hard to gain access to the best communities and the best schools. this is as close to bussing as you could get.

ABORTION:

Do you support or oppose prohibiting the use of taxpayer funds to pay for abortion?

Support Since the women claim that their body is their own business, taxpayer dollars should not be used for abortion. doing so would force that womans procedure to become the subject of public knowledge.

Do you support or oppose legislation to prevent federal agencies and states that receive federal funds
from discriminating against health care providers who do not perform or participate in abortions (Hyde-Weldon Amendment)?

support health care providers should not be forced or coherced to provide abortions.

JPC, you want to be elected to be a representative of the people in the District in which you live. How can you represent their views when they are so diametrically opposed to your own?

I really believe you must have really missed big-time missed the point of the first post of this thread.

Me and the Catholic Church are on the same side of the same issues and Catholics vote.

All I need is 50.1 % and I win the election.

The other 49.9 % can learn to deal with the new improvements that we all get to share in.

What does the Catholic church say about your divorce???What do they say about your neglect of children???

The Catholic churchs record lately isn't that great on politicl campains.

By the way they won't endorse you after they find out what you said about the 9/11 victims.

Who exactly contacted you? Was it a nun at the local church or the pope? Can you tell us who it was so we can enlighten them.
