Good Luck with that, since he's deceased. Died in a house fire in 1983. I lived across the street from his family and went to school with his daughter, while he was imprissoned in Viet Nam. Was there when he was released and came home, quite an event.

I remember talking with him on a couple of ocassions, I was young so don't recall the particulars. He was always a hero in my book.

The picture shows the candidates standing during the National Anthem, not for the Pledge. There is also a video of this same event. If it had been during the Pledge they should have been facing the flag. But that same pic has been circulated saying that he refused to put his hand over his heart during and/or recite the Pledge of Allegiance, which is not true.

Frankly, it really doesn't matter. There are plenty of good reasons not to vote for the man. His stance on illegal immigration, abortion, gun control, etc.

And where is this man today? Just asking because this is the first time I've heard of this story.

sent a pm to the person who let me know this great American had died, but thanks anyhow.

This would be true... What got done in the last year with a democratically controlled house? Nothing... All there promises and yet nothing substantial. Of course the liberals will say that it was GB fault as well.. Pelosi and Reid promised the world and delivered nothing... That is why Congress' approval rating is lower than the presidents..

Same thing when Hillary ran for the Senate. She promised the City of Buffalo 300,000 new jobs. It never happened and the other night on the debate when asked why she failed to deliver she stated "I thought Al Gore was gonna be president". She even blamed President Bush.

Study: Bush, aides made 935 false statements in run-up to war - CNN.com

Study: Bush, aides made 935 false statements in run-up to warStory Highlights
Study searched database for statements by Bush, aides, in 2001-2003

Bush made 260 false statements about Iraqi weapons, al Qaeda, study says

Study accuses former Secretary of State Colin Powell of 244 false statements

Also on the list: Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, former White House spokesmen

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush and his top aides publicly made 935 false statements about the security risk posed by Iraq in the two years following September 11, 2001, according to a study released Tuesday by two nonprofit journalism groups.

President Bush addresses the nation as the Iraq war begins in March 2003.

"In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003," reads an overview of the examination, conducted by the Center for Public Integrity and its affiliated group, the Fund for Independence in Journalism.

According to the study, Bush and seven top officials -- including Vice President Dick Cheney, former Secretary of State Colin Powell and then-National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice -- made 935 false statements about Iraq during those two years.

The study was based on a searchable database compiled of primary sources, such as official government transcripts and speeches, and secondary sources -- mainly quotes from major media outlets.

There you go, proof you don't know what you are talking about and have let MSM do your thinking and obtaining knowledge for you. The WMD aspect included known programs (which were proven to be true), Iraqs failure to fully disclose said programs (again proven to be true), interefernce with inspectors (many documented instances) and not just completed or stockpiled stores (as the media wanted you to solely consider).

Recession equals negative growth, while the economy is slowing it is still moving in a positive direction so how can it be receeding when it is still growing? Explain that one Mr. Wizard.

Agree. Rate of growth is declining. The economy is growing, albeit slower than in the past year.

Kinda like the chicken littles of the left who claim 'Bush is cutting Social Security' or any other pet program, when in reality, it's a cut in the increase of funds for the program.

Wish these folks would learn to comprehend what they read.
