Some of them have also been willing to invoke the I-word -- joining a large number of Americans. Several polls taken in the last two years have shown that large numbers of Americans support impeachment. An Angus Reid poll taken in May 2007 found that a remarkable 39 percent of Americans favored the impeachment of Bush and Cheney. An earlier poll, framed in a more hypothetical way, found that 50 percent of Americans supported impeaching Bush if he lied about the war -- which most of that 50 percent presumably now believe he did. Vermont has gone on record in calling for his impeachment, and a number of cities, including Detroit and San Francisco, have passed impeachment resolutions. Reps. John Murtha and John Conyers and a few other politicians have floated the idea. And there is a significant grassroots movement to impeach Bush, spearheaded by organizations like After Downing Street. Even some Republicans, outraged by Bush's failure to uphold right-wing positions (his immigration policy, in particular), have begun muttering about impeachment.

Democrats Won't Try To Impeach President

Democrats Won't Try To Impeach President

Seeking to choke off a Republican rallying cry, the House's top Democrat has told colleagues that the party will not seek to impeach President Bush even if it gains control of the House in November's elections, her office said last night.

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) told her caucus members during their weekly closed meeting Wednesday "that impeachment is off the table; she is not interested in pursuing it," spokesman Brendan Daly said.............

And this is the dilemma of your argument; there were too many people, that had the same intel, had tons of advisors to analyze the intel, had the same intel Bush had, to accuse one man (Bush) of deceiving them.

I provided something new, the 60 Minutes interview of Agent Piro. You rejected this, because you find it impossible to believe Bush didn’t lie. You’re just not interested in believing that anyone could be more evil than Bush. I don’t have to disprove an accusation against someone. It’s like a court of law, the weight of proof lays on the prosecution not the defense. Perhaps in your mind you have proven something but if the facts stacked up the way you see it Bush would be gone. Your argument solely rests on your belief that he lied, not any sort of concrete proof.

Oh come on... "gets people killed"? Now you're just casting stones for the sake of maintaining your position.

As I've said before, I don't have to prove a negative. I don't have to prove that which I am not accusing someone of. You are accusing Bush of lying and have yet to convince me he has. When you bring this into a court of law, it's not Bush that has to prove he hasn't lied, it's you that has to prove he has.

I am not blind to the corruption of our Washington leaders and I've already stated this; but I'm certainly not going to allow that to loosely extend into accusing them of things that have yet to be proven.
