WOAH!!!! the LAST damn thing I want this county to become is a seedy tourist trap. All that will do is make the summer season a nightmare and the winters here even slower for the bar business..
I've never had a job on base.. I never wanted to.. I think that anyone who wants to be in politics, has no business being there. I think war sucks. I think bombs suck. I hate conformity and the idea of this place becoming a snooty town full of snooty people. I'm country all the way.. Barefoot and tree climbing hippie type..
I'm from here and an ITTY BITTY town in KY that only boasts a quilting museum and the fact that Lilly Tomlin is from there.
TOURIST SPOT.. NO.
I think this towns best bet for insuring prosperity is to limit the out of towners. The Mexicans who are flooding in to town to build the homes that the younger generation would be building if they weren't spoiled brats who have no clue what real work is. Develope this area as a center for education. We have one of the best colleges in the country here.. Expand on that. Arts and history.. I think the wine making idea is a good way to keep farm lands intact. Organic farms make up less than 12% of the total farm land in maryland.. With all the unemployee'd tards here, we could staff a huge organic farming industry and make bank...
The base is not the only way to secure the life in this region.. People thinks it is.. IMO, any number of the things I've listed would not only make jobs and profit, but could perhaps make this area more of a community. That's what is important to me, a safe, close knit community where my kids can grow up and there aren't people sleeping behind the shopping center.

This guys bio is a real laugh, his biggest positives are that he vandalized several government buildings, AND spent time in local jail as well as state prison.

Hey, at least you know this politician is a criminal right up front!

Does anyone else imagine the phrase "Entering the Areola" everytime they see this thread pop up?

Yes. And that would make a little more sense than Areana - what is an Areana - or is it a person's name and this is really a thread on Porn?
