| Is it not clear to all of you that she is seeking a position that will enable her to be part of the oligarchy? Is there not anyone out there that cares enough about the quality of life to actually take the time to search the dumpsters for an uneducated ex-con bum that would be willing to take the office?

Good questions .... the quote is from the Maryland PTA Legislative action and no one has ever brought those questions before.... cool Here are my answers... I support legislation or ordinances that combine the latest information and common sense solutions... vague enough? Let me give you a specific example.... there is an instersection at Appeal Lane and HG Truman Road in Lusby [1st District] where I live... Here I have been work through the PTA to have a traffic signal installed and timed to protect those using the intersection... the latest technology was the light... the common sense was control the traffic before there was a deadly accident... Here's another example... up in the North County at Walnut Creek the school bus goes north on Route 4, turns around, and then goes south on Route 4... this is a major highway... there are students who are attempting to cross Route 4 to catch the bus on the Southbound side of Route 4 if they miss it on the Northbound side. First of all... I opened the communication by asking the PTA leaders to let the Transportation Subcommittee know if there are dangers out there... now step 2 is taking shape... we are in the process of identifying the students who periodically do this stupid thing... then we will contact the school, their parents, and the police dept [in the most expedient order] to have a discussion about the specific dangers.... The next questions... do we need more school busses? Well maybe... The State has counties that do suffer from overloaded busses. At this point Calvert County does a pretty good job aligning the number of school busses with the area of need. The population growth is starting to level off. People get in a hurry and don't like staying behind a school bus. This is a problem in Calvert County because there are so many older communities with no sidewalks. The lack of sidewalks usually results in multiple bus stops in a block or two... increasing stressed out drivers... There aren't enough police to enforce this rule in so many of the areas at one time. I would suggest we ask for a cooperative effort on the part of state and county officers to enforce the law [kind of like the way they put extra enforcement on for drunk drivers on New Years Eve]. I have been told there are not enough funds to bring on the extra officers.... I would request grant funds to pay for the extra hours of coverage until the word gets out. How's that? ![]()

You said you will make it illegal to overload a bus but you didn't offer a solution. ![]()

| Cut her some slack on the overload issue, everything else was answered with a well thought out answer along with examples. I have no doubt that the bus answer would be answered, and even if it isnt tell me the name of one politician that has done everything they said. Face it, do you want someone with some of the answers, or do you want a JPC?

It's easy to say we need this or we need that but without solutions, you're no better than what's in office now! You may accept 50% as acceptable but I don't. And if you consider those answers "well thought out" thank gawd you're not running either. I'll NEVER cut ANY politician slack!! And like JPC even has a chance. ![]()
